Southern Dharma Retreat Center is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the care, maintenance, and operations of its retreat property in the Southern Appalachian mountains. This full-time role (32–40 hours per week) is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on facilities work while supporting a contemplative retreat environment.
The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining the Center’s buildings, infrastructure, grounds, vehicles, and a nearby residence, while coordinating with staff, volunteers, and contractors to ensure the property functions smoothly for retreats and programs.

The role also includes supervising volunteers and part-time staff, managing a facilities budget, tracking utility usage, and assisting with guest needs during retreats while helping preserve the Center’s silent retreat environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in facilities, construction, or grounds maintenance, along with strong organizational and leadership skills. Familiarity with meditation retreat environments and a basic understanding of Buddhist teachings and contemplative practice are required, along with a desire to live in intentional community and support a retreat setting grounded in mindfulness and inclusivity.
