About the Role:
Pisgah Legal Services (PLS) is seeking a compassionate and driven Bilingual Immigration Staff Attorney to join our Justice for All Program (JFAP), which serves the 18 westernmost counties of North Carolina. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and can be based out of any of our regional offices.
The ideal candidate will provide trauma-informed legal assistance and representation to immigrant clients seeking humanitarian immigration relief such as U Visas, T Visas, VAWA, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. The role also involves collaboration with the Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention Program (DSVPP), outreach work, and active community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct representation before USCIS, EOIR, BIA, and other forums
- Conduct client interviews and maintain case documentation in Legal Server
- Lead and support outreach, education, and community relationship building
- Collaborate with nonprofit partners, community leaders, and volunteers
- Support organizational fundraising and contribute to a team-oriented culture
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
Qualifications:
- Licensed U.S. attorney (NC preferred)
- Immigration law experience preferred
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required (verbal & written)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and case management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income and immigrant communities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout WNC
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $63,901–$115,022 based on experience
- Up to $3,000 additional for qualifying bilingual skills (with assessment)
