Position Overview
The Associate Director works closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to advance the organization’s mission and strategic objectives. This role provides organizational leadership by managing processes, policies, and operational systems, while leading evaluation and organizational learning. Working collaboratively with the leadership team, the Associate Director promotes strong engagement among staff, board members, and partners and supports the organization’s long-term effectiveness and impact. ASAP standard office hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm EST. Extended hours may be required to meet deadlines. ASAP offers a hybrid work schedule of three days in ASAP’s Asheville office and two days remote. ASAP’s mission is to help local farms thrive, link farmers to markets and supporters, and build healthy communities through connections to local food. ASAP is committed to creating a local food system that is equitable, environmentally sustainable, economically viable, and health promoting.

Compensation: The starting salary for this full time position is $72,400. Employees are immediately eligible for fringe benefits including 10 paid holidays, 12 paid sick days, 12 paid vacation days (paid vacation increases with term), health stipend, employee workplace wellness initiatives, an Employee Assistance Program for the entire household, employer match of 3% to SIMPLE IRA. ASAP is currently a qualifying employer for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSFL) Program. ASAP is a living wage certified employer.
