DESCRIPTION:Join us for Expect the Unexpected\, a Webinar for Disaster Planning!  Register HERE. June 25\, 2026; 10:00 am – 11:30 am. \nHurricane Helene reminded many nonprofits across Western North Carolina that while organizations often respond with creativity and determination during a crisis\, they may not always have the written plans\, communication systems\, document backups\, or operational policies needed to recover quickly and maintain operations. Developed in partnership with United Way of Henderson County\, this webinar grew out of lessons learned by nonprofits across the region during and after the storm. \nIn this practical session\, we’ll explore the foundations of organizational disaster preparedness and continuity planning. Participants will learn how to identify the types of emergencies most likely to affect their organizations\, develop clear response structures\, and create practical plans that protect staff\, operations\, and organizational sustainability during times of crisis. \nThis session is designed for executive directors\, leadership staff\, board members\, and anyone responsible for organizational operations or risk management. Participants will leave with practical tools they can immediately begin adapting for their own organizations\, including templates\, planning frameworks\, and access to a shared resource library. \nBy the end of the webinar\, participants will: \n\nLearn how to assess organizational vulnerabilities and identify priority risks specific to their mission\, geography\, staffing structure\, and operations.\nUnderstand the key components of an Emergency Safety Plan and Organizational Continuity Plan.\nLeave with practical tools\, templates\, and examples that can be tailored to their organization.\n\nThis presentation will be virtual\, via Zoom.  It will be recorded\, and a link will be sent to all registrants after the webinar. \nThanks to the generous support of United Way of Henderson County\, Henderson County nonprofits can register at no cost. Registration for all other WNC-based participants is $15/individual; $10 additional team members. \n
