Summary of your consulting practice and relevant experience:

As a full-time consultant since 2009, I have succeeded by listening closely to my clients’ needs.  A good consultant is helpful because he or she brings expertise, perspective, leadership, courage, humor, and the ability to ensure harmony in the client’s constituency by making the hard decisions and telling the truth.

I have extensive experience in capital and endowment campaigns as well as feasibility studies.  As one who began as a “residential capital campaigner”, I conduct campaigns as much as possible as short-term, deadline-driven campaigns.

Throughout my career I have helped many non-profits other than the one I was working for, usually pro bono, in achieving success in annual fund programs, board development, planned giving, marketing, and finding sustainability.

One of my professional interests over the years has been planned giving.  All non-profits need to do this yet most do not get around to doing much.  I use uncomplicated and straightforward techniques that everyone can master quickly.

I have a great deal of fun as a consultant, use a lot of humor, and find it a most redemptive process to help clients achieve what they often feel is not possible.  I am glad to meet with clients ahead of time at no charge and demonstrate to them why it is so important to use a consultant, even if they choose someone else to assist them.
