organizational assessment tools

Ready to dive in, but not sure what your organization truly needs? Assessment is the first step for any nonprofit that is serious about getting stronger. Depending on your group’s developmental stage, we have three levels of assessment to help you determine the right direction for you:

● For emerging organizations, a simple way to get a read on your organization status is to
use our Infrastructure Checklist and Effectiveness Survey. (Free; best if completed by a
committee of the organization.)

● Interested in getting a read on where you are and could go to strengthen your organization’s equity focus? Check out this Equity Planning & Assessment ToolNote that this checklist does not replace a full equity audit – it is meant to be a starting place. (Free; best if completed by a committee of the organization.)

● For more developed organizations with larger budgets and a paid staff, check out our On-Line Assessment Tool, formally called the Core Capacity Assessment Tool or CCAT. (Discounted fee for WNC nonprofits; involves multiple leaders of the organization taking an electronic survey.)

These simple but strategic resources can help your nonprofit begin the process of identifying your strengths, as well as the areas that need attention and improvement, in order for your organization to become more effective and sustainable.
