The Philanthropy Officer is a key ambassador for the association. They advance the Y’s strategic priorities by securing major funding by focusing on developing a caseload of high-capacity individual donors and families. Under the direction of the VP of Financial Development, they develop, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors supporting the Y’s philanthropic endeavors. This role is accountable for ensuring major donors are managed through an aligned strategy, and they are expected to secure more than $1,000,000 annually once their caseload is qualified and developed. They collaborate with leadership and volunteers to identify and secure funding and ensure that proposals are sustainable and fully aligned with the Y’s highest priority funding needs. They also collaborate with finance and program staff to ensure donors are properly stewarded and reported to. As an association leaders, they facilitate and indirectly manage workflows for staff across the organization and ensure the success of fundraising volunteers. They develop and implement fundraising strategies to empower non-development staff to accomplish bold fund development goals. They work across teams and centers to cultivate a cause-driven culture of philanthropy that continually embraces alignment, the spirit of cooperation, teamwork, and accountability.
