Horizons at CDS is an equity-centered enrichment program for students from under-served communities in Asheville. Horizons at CDS looks for experienced, professional individuals with the ability to implement strategies to engage students in active learning through non-traditional methods in our six-week summer enrichment program. Each staff member must work as a team player to help fulfill the Horizons mission. Horizons staff members are loving, creative, and adaptable, as well as passionate about social justice and equity in education. It is our hope that Horizons staff members will return to the program for multiple summers as we continue to support our students and build community within the program. In summer 2021, Horizons at CDS will serve 10 current Kindergarten, 5 first grade, 15 second grade students and 15 third grade students. We plan to hold an in-person program on the CDS campus for summer 2021 with strong health and safety guidelines in place. If the need to pivot to remote learning, there may be a need to make staffing changes. Apply through the Horizons at CDS Website.
