Summary of your consulting practice and relevant experience:

Communication Mark is a consulting firm with a passion for creating positive change through fundraising and organizational development. We believe that nonprofit organizations are most effective when they communicate well with their constituents.

We help the organizations we serve by ensuring that they possess clear project and fundraising strategies. We identify community support, plan project and fundraising timelines as needed, and provide development capacity so that our clients are able to maximize their efforts.

Our team brings many years of fundraising experience to its work and is familiar with a wide variety of nonprofit organizations. We utilize a system that we created (Open Communication™ Fundraising Cycle) that has proven success with all sizes of organizations and all types of causes.

We are best known for our grant proposal writing, which has taught us that well-chosen words are no substitute for effective projects that address documented needs. Thus, we offer a range of communication services that aim to ensure that nonprofits raise funds but also plan, execute, evaluate, report and sustain their projects effectively. We put systems into place, where necessary, to make organizations’ work easier over time. Our services include:
•    Writing Grant Proposals;
•    Developing New or Existing Agency Services;
•    Drafting “Case Statements” in Preparation for Fundraising;
•    Cultivating Foundation, Corporation or Public Support;
•    Agency Problem-solving and Organizational Development;
•    Coordinating Complex Fundraising Efforts;
•    Fundraising Research;
•    Grant Reporting and Evaluation;
•    Donor Communications; and
•    Assisting with Media and Public Relations.

Our annual grant application success rate is consistently 60-80% when we work with organizations that have a fundraising track record of one year or more. When we include new or less experienced organizations, our rate is above 50%, still quite high for this type of fundraising.

Since our founding in April 2000, some of our best clients are established organizations with development expertise and fundraising staff that hire us to affordably increase their proposal writing capacity. We frequently add value to our work with these organizations and others by functioning as part-time members of client’s staff.

Thank you for taking the time to understand our philosophy of public service. If you share our goals, we welcome your query and hope that you will consider working with us.
